October 2025 Newsletter: Autumn Reset —
Finding Balance in Body and Mind 🍂

Hello everyone,

As the days shorten and the air cools, many of us start to notice old aches resurfacing and our energy dipping a little.

Autumn is a wonderful time for reflection — a moment to slow down, reset the nervous system, and reconnect with healthy habits that keep us moving freely through the colder months.

Autumn Alignment: Why We Feel Stiffer This Season

When temperatures drop, our muscles naturally contract to preserve warmth.

Combine that with longer hours spent at desks, heavier clothing, and fewer daylight walks, and it’s no surprise that the body starts to feel tight or sluggish.

From a chiropractic perspective, these seasonal changes affect spinal mobility and posture more than we often realise.

Regular adjustments, gentle movement, functional training, good hydration, and mindful breathing all help your nervous system adapt — improving circulation, flexibility, and overall vitality.

Think of it less as fixing pain and more as tuning your body for the next season. Small, consistent care now helps prevent those winter niggles before they start.

October Practical Tip — Your Mobile Phone: Friend or Foe?

Colour-Filters

  • Reduce blue light at night.
Use a colour filter or red tint on your screen after sunset. The warmer the tone, the less blue light your eyes absorb — helping your body prepare for better sleep. Blue light from screens sends a signal to your brain that it’s still daytime. This suppresses melatonin, the hormone that helps you fall asleep, and delays your body’s natural sleep-wake rhythm. By reducing blue light exposure in the evening, you allow your body to unwind more naturally — improving both sleep quality and next-day focus.
  • Be aware of ‘tech neck’.
Many phones now place the search bar at the bottom of the screen — a small design change that keeps our gaze tilted down for longer. Over time, this posture can lead to neck pain and tension. Remember, your neck does far more than hold up your head — it provides your brain with vital sensory information to help control balance, posture, and coordinated movement. When that input becomes distorted, your whole body can feel out of sync.
  • Reconnect with real connection.
As the Princess of Wales recently wrote, an overload of screens has created an “epidemic of disconnection”. While technology promises to bring us closer, it often leaves us distracted and mentally absent. At our clinic, we believe health is about more than pain relief — it’s about cultivating awareness, movement, and meaningful connection.Alongside chiropractic care, we continue to support our patients through mindfulness, lifestyle advice, and expert-level movement training.

Positive News / Update — Life in London & Clinic Notes

Good news for all who live, work, and breathe in London — nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) levels have dropped to their lowest on record, with many monitoring sites now much closer to meeting the UK’s legal air quality limits, according to recent government data.

We’re also delighted to see so many familiar faces back after summer!

The clinic has been buzzing with energy, and if you’re looking for a mindful moment nearby, Regent’s Park is stunning right now with its autumn colours.

To make things easier for those returning from travel or adjusting routines, we’ve added a few extra appointment slots this month.
