Will I feel immediate relief after my first chiropractic adjustment?

Some people feel an improvement after their first session, while others notice gradual progress over several visits. Chiropractic care aims to restore healthy movement and reduce strain on the body, but meaningful change often takes time. Your chiropractor will review your progress regularly and adjust your plan as needed.

What is Holistic Wellness?

Holistic wellness looks at your health as a whole — not just treating symptoms. At our clinic, we consider posture, movement, mindset, nutrition, and sleep as key influences on musculoskeletal health and overall wellbeing. This approach supports recovery, resilience, and helps to reduce the risk of future problems.

How often should I visit a chiropractor?

It’s common to ask, “How often do I need to come?” Many people hope the answer is “just once,” but lasting improvement usually requires more than a single visit. This is because the issues that lead you to seek care often develop gradually over months or years.

The frequency of visits varies for each person and depends on your condition, goals, and how your body responds to care. Some people notice improvement quickly, while others benefit from a series of sessions to address longer-standing patterns. Your chiropractor will recommend a plan based on their clinical assessment and will review your progress with you regularly to ensure it remains appropriate.

Is it normal to feel stiffness after an adjustment?

It is common to feel mild stiffness or soreness after an adjustment, especially if it is your first session or you have not received care for some time. This happens as your body adapts to changes in joint movement, muscle tension, and posture. Such effects usually settle within 24-48 hours. If they persist beyond a few days, please contact us for further advice.

Can you tell me a bit more about your approach?

We provide evidence-informed, patient-centred care. Chiropractic adjustments are intended to improve joint mechanics and reduce strain; some effects may be observed by your clinician shortly after treatment, even if they are not noticeable straight away. Lasting improvement comes from addressing the wider factors that influence your health — such as posture, movement habits, stress, and lifestyle. This is why we integrate therapies such as movement training, foot-function work, alignment-based rehabilitation, and Photobiomodulation (PBM) alongside chiropractic care.

What do I need to know before we start?

Before your first visit, please complete our online intake form and pay the booking deposit. This helps us review your history in advance and make the best use of your appointment time. After that, simply attend your session at one of our Central London clinics.

What happens on the first visit?

Your first visit includes a detailed consultation and physical examination to understand your needs. We will explain our findings, outline your recommended care plan, and discuss any potential risks or side-effects. Care will only begin once you have given informed consent.

How soon will I see results from chiropractic care or PBM therapy?

The timeframe varies. Some people notice benefits within a few sessions, while for others it takes longer, depending on factors such as their condition, medical history, general health, and lifestyle. Your progress will be reviewed regularly, and your plan will be adapted as needed.

Are chiropractors regulated in the UK?

Yes. Chiropractors are statutorily regulated by the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) under the Chiropractors Act 1994. Only those registered with the GCC can legally practise as chiropractors in the UK.

Is chiropractic care safe?

Chiropractic care is generally considered safe when provided by a registered chiropractor. At our clinic, we use Activator Methods®, a research-based technique that delivers a very fast but low-force impulse to the joint. This speed allows the adjustment to be both precise and gentle, avoiding the need for twisting, cracking, or manual high-velocity thrusts. It is suitable for a wide range of patients, including children, older adults, and those with certain health conditions.

Some patients may experience mild, short-lived effects such as temporary stiffness or soreness as their body adapts to treatment. These usually resolve within a day or two. If you have any concerns, your chiropractor will be happy to discuss them with you.

Do you work with other healthcare professionals?

Yes. Where appropriate, we collaborate with GPs, surgeons, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure your care is safe, coordinated, and effective.
